Description
USB is intended to be a user friendly, hot plug-and-play bus for desktop applications. With the growing popularity and
wide public acceptance for this protocol, USB has recently become the standard connection in the PC environment.
Devices such as data acquisition, serial, parallel, Ethernet, etc., can now be connected to USB through bridges. These
bridges extend the desktop into environments not originally foreseen for USB applications. But, the added cable length
and environments typical to these devices introduce conventional problems such as ground loops, spikes, and surges,
which can damage the devices as well as the PC. For protection from these scenarios in commercial or industrial
applications, and to increase system reliability in any harsh environment, optical isolation is strongly recommended.
UISOHUB4 does exactly that. It is a four-port USB hub with optical isolation between the upstream port and all the
downstream ports. Both high and low speed USB peripherals are supported as well as high-powered and low-powered
devices. This unique hub offers all the benefits of the USB technology with added safety and protection for your PC.
The attached 1m USB cable on the upstream port is ready to connect to your PC or another hub. An external power
supply is required, but not included.
